Sidefoot is a stats app for pickup football. This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect
When you leave your details through this site, we collect what you choose to enter:
- Your name and email address
- Your crew or team name (optional)
- What kind of phone you play on (optional)
- Anything you tell us about your games (optional)
When you use the app, we also store the information needed to run your league, such as player names, match results, and the email address you sign in with.
Why we collect it
- To review and respond to your early-access request
- To let you sign in to the app and use your league
- To produce the standings, stats, and records the app is built to show
- To answer your questions when you use Ask Sidefoot, the in-app assistant
Ask Sidefoot, the in-app assistant
The app includes an assistant you can ask questions about your crew, such as who your best partnership is. When you ask a question, your question and your crew's stat sheet, meaning player names and match results, are sent to Anthropic, who generate the answer and send it back. Anthropic do not use this information to train their models.
It only ever sees crews you belong to. It is never given your email address, and it cannot reach a crew you are not a member of. If you would rather it did not see your data, simply do not use the feature.
How it is handled
Your early-access request is sent to our team by email. We use a small number of trusted service providers to make Sidefoot work, and your information is shared with them only for that purpose:
- Resend: delivers our emails (your request, and your sign-in codes)
- Supabase: securely stores the app's league data
- Vercel: hosts this website and the app's services
- Anthropic: powers Ask Sidefoot, the in-app assistant, as described above
- Google Analytics: measures visits to this website, as described below
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Cookies and tracking
This site uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets its own cookies to recognise a return visit and records things like the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you are on. We use it to see whether the site is doing its job, nothing more.
We have turned off the setting that would share this data with Google for their own product and advertising purposes. This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. Alongside this we may use the minimal cookies our hosting needs to serve the site reliably.
If you would rather not be counted, you can install Google's opt-out browser add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser settings. The site works exactly the same either way.
Keeping it safe
Your information travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and is stored with reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and to limit who can access it.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time, from your account screen. You do not need to ask us. Deleting removes your sign-in, your email address, and your membership of every crew.
Your crew's match history stays with the crew, because it belongs to everyone who played those games, but your personal link to it is removed. If you were the only admin of a crew, someone else is handed admin so the crew is never left stranded. If you were its only member, the crew is deleted with you.
Your other choices
You can also ask us to show you the information we hold about you, or correct it. Email hello@sidefoot.app and we will take care of it.
Children
Sidefoot is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
As Sidefoot grows, we may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
